FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Peshawar Campus conducted a mega event on 25th to 27th April 2014, where multiple activities were carried out. Students of LIMS actively participated in the following competitions:
1) Spelling Bee: This competition was organized in order to explore English Language, to promote learning of proper word usage, correct spellings and comprehension in an atmosphere of fun and friendship. LIMS team comprised of 3 students from IX B:
i) Mohid Irfan from Khadija House
ii) Sher Ali Khattak from Fatima House
iii) Hassan Farhad from Abu Baker House
In all 13 teams participated and with the grace of Allah our students secured 3rd position. Ms Safina Bangash accompanied them and took active part in the preparation along with Mr. Faizan Ahmed Khan
2) Science Models: Students and teachers of Secondary classes of both Girls and Boys sections in the supervision of their teachers presented the following models:
i)Potato Battery: In the supervision of the Physics teacher Mr. Mohammad Imran, the following students of Class VIII B presented the model very confidently:
i) Hamza Abbas of Abu Baker House,
ii) Hamza Afridi of Abu Baker House and
iii)Nizamud Din of Khadija House.
ii)Structure of DNA: In the guidance of Biology teacher Ms. Shabnum Aziz an elaborate model was prepared and presented by the boys of Class XB depicting the enlarged structure of DNA, including:
i)Furqan Abbas of Abu Baker House
ii)Syed Sohaib Bacha of Ali House
iii)M. Abdullah Arshad of AbuBaker House
iii)Effects of Deforestation: Ms. Nosheen Sohail painstakingly guided and helped
the following girls of Class X and VIII to highlight the effects of Deforestation in a
3D model:
i) Hina Shafiq of XR from Abu Baker House
ii) Mahnoor Riaz of XR from Khadija House
iii) Faheema Yousafzai of VIII R from Khadija House
iv)Terrestrial Eco System:Ms. Shabnum Aziz with keen interest guided another
group of following students from Class IX R in a mega model depicted life plants
and animals found in deserts, forests, grasslands and plains:
i) Malaika Sajid from Fatima House
ii) Sana Khurrum from Khadija House
iii) Ayesha Hakim from Fatima House.
Participation in all the above activities provided great opportunities to build confidence, and gain knowledge from other projects and participants. Confidence and mastery of the presented topics were greatly appreciated by the judges and other guests.

Academic Year 2013-14 ended with the blessings of Allah and the End of Year Result was declared on 20^th March 2014. All class teachers and subject teachers handed over the results to the parents or guardians of students by throwing light upon their strengths and achievements. Areas for development were also brought to the notice of parents and  relevant guidance was provided to the parents for the upcoming year.

The joy and pleasure of students who got promoted with flying colors could be seen from their beaming faces and the vividly visible pride of their parents could be judged from their cheerful interaction. Annual Result Day is always a day of recognition and a day of rejoicing. As it is the concrete reflection of the successful collaborative efforts of parents and teachers for the development of the personalities of all the students. A very small percentage of students who, due to multiple reasons could not come up to the required standard were guided in detail and depth for better performance the next year, as focused attention has always produced appreciable results.  

                                                                               Winter Fun Day

Learning at the lower primary and primary level is excellent if it is enjoyable and activity based, where active participation of each student, results in vivid concepts and memorable experiences. With this philosophy, Winter Fun Day was organized for students of Classes Reception/Pre Nursery to Class II, on Thursday, 16th January 2014. Children and teachers were all attired in winter clothes of their choice. Students and teachers brought fruits, vegetables, dry fruits found in winters. They also brought different clothing items worn in this season. Names of all the gathered items were learnt in English and Urdu by the little ones and others discussed the uses and advantages of all fruits and vegetables found in winter and clothes and accessories used in the cold weather. Many groups extracted fruit juices, made fruit ‘chatt’ and salads, and shared these products with their friends and teachers. They also participated in ‘throwing a ball in the basket’ competition, and ‘potato-in-a-spoon’ race. 

1)Best Dressed Students and Teachers:

Prizes were given to the following students and teachers for being smartly dressed up as per occasion and weather:

2)Best Dressed Teachers:Ms Azra Mahmood and Ms. Hamna Siddiqui were declared as Best-Dressed teachers and both won a cash prize of Rs.500/-each.

3) Balls in a Basket:

The competition of throwing balls in a basket was won by the following students:

4) Potato and Spoon Race:The following students were careful runners, they managed to retain potatoes in the spoons held in their teeth along with running very fast to excel in their respective groups:

Different entertaining activities were organized also. Students along with their class fellows came out to enjoy the ‘donkey-cart ride’ and special rotatory swing rides. For most of them riding a donkey ride was the first ever experience, and were thrilled not only by the ride but also by the cart beautifully decorated by their teachers. The Swings man and the cart-man recieved cash payments from the Director in the end of the Assembly, when the winners received prizes in a joyful manner.

CLASSROOM DECORATION COMPETITION 2013-14

As is the tradition at LIMS, every year when the teachers are appointed new classes, a classroom decoration competition is held among the teachers to commemorate the beginning of a new year of studies and to create a welcoming environment for the new students.
